My Top 5 Favorite Coffee Shops of 2016

Welcome to the first-ever annelovescoffeemore list of my five favorite coffee shops. If you live in or have plans to be in Los Angeles, NYC, Paris or Vancouver, and you love good coffee, there is something here for you. Also, I am always looking for new coffee shops to try in different cities throughout the world, so if you have a recommendation of a shop to add to my list, please comment below! On my short list of places I plan to go/get back to: Sydney, Buenos Aires, NYC, London and Paris. If you have fave coffee shops…

This video of former Pro BMXer Kevin Porter is SO AWESOME… and, yes, this has to do with coffee.

This is Kevin Porter. He is a former Pro-BMXer. If you click through (on the title above) to this post, you will see a video of him doing his BMX thing. Do yourself a favor and watch the whole video. The whole entire video. Note: the beginning is pretty funny, but that is not the best part… hang in there… it’s pretty f*ckin’ rad. I didn’t know I even liked BMX… or that I used the word rad… until I saw this video. It is so cool! Just like Kevin. I met Kevin at the Verve…

The September Issue: Surrounding Yourself with What Inspires You

Hello, September! Most of you may know from my very first ever annelovescoffeemore blog post, that I love October… It is my favorite month, even though I live in Los Angeles, where October feels exactly the same as July. But I loooooovvvvveeee the “September issue of fashion magazines. I don’t have to explain why to anyone who is the littlest bit interested in fashion/style. Quitting: When Giving Up is Exactly the Right Thing to Do

This is a blog post about giving up. I know… it sounds weird, right? It’s kind of like “What is this, opposite day?” But stay with me…

I think it is fair to say that everyone reading this post would agree that persistence is important. Persistence is what helps us overcome obstacles so we can reach our goal when things get sticky… when things get difficult. “If at first you don’t succeed, try and try again.” We’ve heard it a thousand times if we’ve heard it once. But sometimes persistence is exactly the wrong thing. Sometimes…

At long last…Chemex

Chemex. It has been around for decades… seven to be exact. It is a pour-over style non-porous glass container coffeemaker that Peter Schlumbohm invented in 1941, and, fun fact, it is one of very few drip-method coffee brewing devices on permanent display at The Museum of Modern Art in New York. In my opinion, it is the best way to brew coffee. Here’s why:

(1) It looks damn good. The Chemex has an angular somewhat “cold” design comprised of three sexy components: glass, wood, and leather, giving it a contradictory aesthetic that is at once sterile…

How to Be Brave (Hint: Do One Small Scary Thing)

Yesterday, my dad forwarded me a video of skydiver Luke Aikins, who just made history for the highest jump – 25,000 feet – without a parachute. If you haven’t seen the video, please do yourself a favor and watch it. Now. Here it is.

I had actually already seen it, but I love this sh*t so much, I watched it again. While I did, I noticed I was feeling a kind of exhilaration and joy. And because I am “the introspective” type [understatement of the year], I started to think about why… I mean, I wasn’t the one…
