Q&A with Collin Schneider, Co-founder of Bespoken Coffee Roasters

I’m not sure how I first heard of Bespoken Coffee Roasters (in Corvallis, Oregon), but I am pretty sure it was when I was scooting around Instagram last fall, and I came across one of their posts. And I immediately started following them. Because they seemed awesome. And then, they posted something about a big custom order of their Holiday Blend they had just finished packaging. I could not resist… I asked if they had any extra bags I could buy and, lucky me, they did! The beans were as amazing as I had hoped, and I ordered a…

This Summer Make the Most Delicious Nectarine Tart You Will Ever Eat

One of the best things about summer is summer fruit, specifically nectarines and peaches! I love them! They are so good, and they are only good in the summer. This is why I do not ever – ever ever – pass up the opportunity to make nectarine and peach tarts during the summer. They are delicious no matter what, but – for me – having peach or nectarine tart for breakfast with coffee in the morning is nothing short of heaven. It is really one of life’s simple pleasures.

So now that nectarines and peaches are officially in season, I decided to make…

Five Cool (and Fun!) Ways Minimize Your Environmental Footprint This Summer

My friend Jen Kanter is co-founder of barrio.la, a company that sources and promotes local businesses that produce high-quality, eco-friendly goods made in Southern California. A Story of 100 Thank Yous

Soooo….this past weekend, I got some kind of bad news. It wasn’t awful, but it was enough of a bummer that I spent the next day and a half trying to cheer myself up. I wasn’t successful… at first… but I tell you more about that after I’ll tell you about my bad news. You know… for fun. First, you need some back-story (of course). In October, I was cruising down my street on the way to meet a friend. I was off of work, and so I…

Film Short: “Coffee: Six Degrees of Caffeination” by James Casey

Sometimes, in life, something comes your way that speaks to your soul. Yes – your actual soul. Today, I share this (now almost one-year-old) video short because it is one of those things. The way I see it, learning about this video is one of the positive results of starting this blog. No blog + no incessant posting about #coffee on my instagram and FB pages = no one telling me about this video.  So if you also haven’t seen this yet, enjoy. And thank you Regina Connell for tipping me off. P.S. James Casey, would you…
