“Happy” Election Day! 🙄 (That’s the eye-roll emoji in case you can’t tell.)
It’s finally here… thank God. Never has an election had more of an impact on my overall level of stress. Never has there been a better time for me to practice gratitude and notice/accept my feelings. 🙂 If you feel the same way, I want you to know you are not alone, my friend. I know who I want to win this thing, but to be perfectly frank, I am just going to be relieved when it is finally all over.
That said, no matter which candidate for U.S. president you support, I want to encourage you (beg you… plead with you…) to please, please, please, please, PLEASE vote.
If you need help figuring out where and when to vote, there is a very easy-to-use tool – click on this link, and it will take you to a page where you can enter your address, and you will be provided with information about where and when you can vote today.
What you need to bring. What ID you need to bring to the polls varies by state. If you’re not sure what ID you need, you can check your state’s ID requirements at rockthevote.com.
If you’ve already voted, you can still help by encouraging your friends and family to vote… and by helping them find out where they can vote (or even by taking them to their polling places). If you live in Pennsylvania, you can also get a FREE Uber of Lyft ride to your polling place by entering the promo code VOTEPA, courtesy of MyRideToVote.com. Today, I am in Nevada with my friend Anna Graham Hunter driving people to the polls here. No matter how much our help impacts the outcome of this election, it feels good to be contributing in any way we can.
One last thing… we live a truly remarkable country – one filled with so many wonderful people with ancestors from places all over the earth. Even if we don’t agree on everything, we are still human, and we can choose to be kind and respectful to one another. That remains true no matter who our next president will be.
